A Caring Nidorino

Nidorino's instincts clearly defy what researchers spent all their time classifying as normal, and no, it's not just to stomp on the efforts of biologists. Even if he is a peaceful fellow (save for under stress), he will do whatever is necessary to defend his family. He's well known in the Poke Forest, and a friend to everyone. He's a handsome guy, definitely young looking and possibly a pretty boy (but not "dude looks like a lady" pretty). His cute appearance is strange for a fact, but no one seems to be shocked about this like they were for Nidorina. Women think he's cute, married or not. Guys wish they had his youthful looks (if only because they don't wanna look crusty when they get a certain age). Nidorina thinks he's "surface of the sun" hot, which might explain the rapid child births. But on the plus side, they're gonna have offspring so beautiful that you can't look at them directly without your face melting, and if they breed enough, they can create a whole new species of face melting Nidos. You can't tell me that's not a cool sounding concept.

In the end, he isn't vain, for no matter what anyone thinks of him, he's just a calm and caring guy. One who works a lot, too. Boy, do I know what that's like.

Poke Tales/Legends Nido Role Call

Doodled just because. Not including Poke Island itself, it had an entirely different Nido cast than the latter two parts of the series. These are all he important Nido cast members (they may not all be major characters, but they aren't background). When you stop to think of it, outside of Poke Island, Nido Pokemon have been the foundation of everything I start that's Pokemon related. With such high regard, it's no surprise I would build unnecessary sites like this one, but someone had to do it.

The imagery MIGHT make more sense than it did when I first uploaded this, with the advent of more character info through time. But like last time, you could probably guess what each character is like just by what you see, and you'd probably be spot on (although the children are a bit hard).

Pensive Nidoran

While Nidoran is typically mild mannered, he has a strong wanderlust and likes to explore. This worries his wife a lot, because as a Nidoran he's really not that strong, and he doesn't have the greatest sense of direction, either. But he can't help it, the thrill of finding new discoveries is far too great. Here, he's thinking about where to go next.

Cake?

My what big ears you have. While Nidorina and Chicolita held the title of best cooks in the Poke Forest, Nidoran could still crush them with her unbelievable ability to bake treats. There's a whole story devoted to this talent. It's amazing what one can do with only two claws. Then again, Chicolita's food is gourmet quality, she only has a hoof dealie to use AND she's only 12. Oh, what us humans don't know about Pokemon capabilities. And they want to keep it that way.

Mrs. Nidorina Another Ver.

You know, the deal with the Mrs. Nidorina series of drawings is pretty much the same, no matter how many times I do it. So then one has to ask "but why"? Definitely to play up the fact that that's how she was looked upon within the series, well, by other characters I should say.

Royal Nidoqueen

In ritzy Sunset Coast City lives a Nidoking and queen couple of royal decent. Like most characters in the Poké Island et. al series, their names are the same as their specie. Though they have royal blood, they chose not to live the life of monarchy but moved away (despite the wishes of their family) somewhere quieter. Well, quiet and extremely posh. They own one of the many mansions there, but unlike a lot of the people who live there, they do not place themselves on a pedestal above those who live anywhere else.

Like all the other major Nidos of the series, Nidoqueen has a more feminine appeal than the typical. I dunno why I did this, I mean, I could've made them look normal but I guess not. Then again, looks alone didn't help Nidoran and Nidorina any in the beginning anyway. Still, Poke Island seems to breed cute looking individuals. Even the Raticate on the island are cute. Maybe that's why they keep themselves hidden from mainland. Also, like every other creature, clothes are optional. It really makes no difference if they wear them or not, but Nidoqueen often gets dressed up just because she can afford high fashion clothes.

Forever Sweethearts

Even with earlier martial issues, this couple is practically gaga for each other, especially in present day (i.e. after the point when Nidorino became more affectionate). Either way, the idea was to have a couple that went against the negative stereotype you may see in some married couples in fictional media. After their children, they love each other more than anything. Nidorina, obviously, loves Nidorino about five times as much as he does her, which sometimes makes him uneasy. Although not clingy, she isn't above pouncing him or pulling spontaneous stunts (this is one marriage that's far from predictable, that can be said). Still, they appreciate each others company and wouldn't trade what they have together for anything in the world. If only more spouses could love each other as unconditionally, this should be a new trend.

Onlooking Nidoran

Excuse to draw a picture of Nidoran Female, you'll find I do this a lot. I also tend to make a lot of over dramatic pictures with her, because she was such a dramatic character (nah, not really).
