December 11th - Nok-Nok

It's the comically large head that makes him adorable. Nok-Nok can't say anything other than "Nok-Nok", which is why he's called that (also a diminutive of Nuckrar. Many of the Chibis have names borrowed from the Japanese originals vs. the English localizations). He's a lot smarter than he looks, but nobody takes him seriously because he can't articulate.

Nok-Nok is from Chibi's Corner.

December 10th - Lilia

Oh hey I haven't seen you in a while. She's certainly brimming with optimism and positive energy, which might be considered refreshing compared to other Chikorita characters outside of Chicolita. Perhaps because this is one case of the game writing the character for me?

Here's some useless trivia. Did you know that, if we're not counting Diary of a Gamer Girl, there's at least one Chikorita in each series? This is being generous and including Happa the slime-Chikorita from Chibi's Corner. Even Vulpix doesn't have this track record and I like Vulpix way more.

Lilia hails from Carmela: ¡Alcance las Estrellas! and is inspired by the Chikorita of the same name from my copy of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team.

December 9th - Haunter

Haunter barely holds the title of favorite Ghost, as I may have discovered his replacement in Pokemon Y after this was drawn. However, like Goodra, character familiarity is necessary. It's also funny that Haunter has this really cocksure look on his face, but hasn't visibly won Death Reaper JOE any battles. That being said, he's his next most reliable Pokemon, second only to Misdreavus in that she actually has power to back her loyalty. The rest of them have personality quirks or ego issues that get in the way.

Haunter is from Alternate Universe.

December 8th - Fletchling

Most of the small birds are cute, and that's good enough for me, but Fletching takes it to a whole other level, especially with that beautiful chirp. I didn't want to evolve mine, but life goes on, you know? If I had made that Pokemon X/Y based comic, this Fletchling would have been a minor character, I could've drawn any of the siblings, really. Fletchinder would've been more important, but Fletchling still wins out as a Pokemon in general. At this time, there's no plans to use any of the Fletchling line anymore.

December 7th - Vulpix Anderson

In a move that surprises no one, I reveal my favorite Fire type to be Vulpix. Add Vulpix to the list of Pokemon that I've loved for as long as they existed. Vulpix starts off in the series as just the Cute Kid, but like Eevee and Joy in Poke Tales through Legends, you can noticeably tell her growing older, even within the series' floating timeline (very few characters in AU canonically age). Either way, she remains very stable, but knows how to just be a kid and have some fun while that ride lasts. Like Nidorina, she's known for having several hairstyles because if you've got it, flaunt it.

Vulpix is from Alternate Universe, and is also inspired by the Pokemon of the same name from my copy of Pokemon Silver.

December 6th - Hitmontop Ishida

"If I don't keep up with my training, my Trainer is going to haunt me in my sleep..." Hitmontop is mostly a background character, but he's a nice guy otherwise, and pretty loyal to Son of Nightmare. All of SoN's Pokemon are close to him because he takes Pokemon training seriously, maybe too much so at times.

Hitmontop is from Alternate Universe.

December 5th - Chanel Pelletier

The last time I saw a Pokemon for the first time and declared it mine had to be Kirlia back in the 3rd generation. Well, Aromatisse was that for the 6th. I tend to have a thing with faving Pokemon the majority ignores, though. I sure know how to pick 'em, but to that end, it just makes me feel that much better about working them out to an interesting degree. Everyone and their mom has an Umbreon character, how can you stand out? Favorite Fairy by and large, and she kicks some butt too.

Chanel's a small town girl looking to make a name for herself as one of Paris's youngest up and coming showgirls. Not the burlesque kind, you. More like a Radio City Rockette. She can sing, she can dance, she can act and she can perform magic! Alas, no one cares. But hey, well that's life too~.

Chanel has yet to appear in any tangible work, but I do hold out the hope that she will, at least to the degree of Lisa Berkley. Currently, she is inspired by the Aromatisse of the same name in my copy of Pokemon Y.

December 4th - Anabelle

It's weird that both Flaaffy and Ampharos are on this list. Ampharos is more of a technicality which I'll explain later. Right now, let's talk Flaaffy. Of all electric types, Flaaffy has been my favorite hands down probably forever. It's kinda plump though, which if anything helps it's case for cuteness. Anabelle is a woman of southern charm and generosity, despite not having much. She's another one of those domesticated types in a wild world, like a lot of the Poke Forest regulars. A diamond in the rough, if you will.

Anabelle is from Poke Legends.

December 3rd - Dragonite

The cuter dragons of the series I like. Dratini and Goomy's family are all neat, and so is Flygon (I forget if Vibrava's a dragon, and Trapinch certainly isn't, but he counts as a favorite elsewhere). However, familiarity makes me side with Dragonite, whereas a newcomer like Goodra, who for all intents and purposes is even cuter (a cuter fully realized dragon than Dragonite? And people thought Dragonite was as twee as it was gonna get), doesn't get the bill because I'm just not familiar enough with it. Needs more character attachment, that Goodra.

This Dragonite is rather run of the mill, laid back and easy going like a beach bum. However, you'll find he has the fortitude and smarts of an archaeologist and adept treasure hunter when it comes to learning about who he is as a "dragon".

Dragonite is from Poke Island.

December 2nd - Yami

This one called for Dark Type, a type of Pokemon I don't typically care about because I'm not in high school anymore. :P That said, I always felt Sableye was more solid than gossamer, so the traditional idea of "ghost" doesn't come up, and it just brings Dark to the forefront instead, Yami's soul stealing powers aside. Speaking of soul consumption, don't look into his eyes. Said soul consumption just... happens, if you do. This tends to leave him lonely and friendless.

Yami is from Chibi's Corner.
