This is my part of a full blown art trade with Patrick who draws very nice pokemon pictures, for my end of the trade he wanted me to draw his Nidorina as a fancey jazz singer. I was listening to Ella Fitzgerald for research, inspiration and then it switched to someone singing Mack the Knife "Ya know when that shark bites with his teeth, babe" and then I had to draw a Sharpedo in the back wailing on the sax, though I did a terrible job coloring his saxophone. Although I'm terrible at backgrounds I think this is one of my better ones to date.
