Christmas 2010 - I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

And how! This is a rather charming bit of non traditional art, and yes, this is made with real paper cutouts. The use of only paper and the imperfections throughout turn what could've been another holiday drawing into something cute and different. I could be wrong, but I think I had this idea in my head since 2008 or 2009. I don't quite know what changed my mind either time, although it might have been because it was going to be a story instead of a picture, or because the idea of Nidorina making out with ol' "Saint Nick" seemed a bit much. Oh Nidorina, not in front of the kids! Another thing is that I feel like this scene is ripe for commentary you could add in for any of the children ('cept Diana).

Totodile: I didn't know Santa could do the Tango~

Come on, this stuff writes itself.

Valentine's Day 2011 - Practical Cards

Valentine's cards that are actually meant to be useful. This set includes characters Sentret, Charlotte, Nidorino (AU) and Wobbuffet. The pic's pretty big, just in case for some reason someone actually wants to print these out on cardstock. I am not responsible for any possible outcomes.

Check the full post (or click to see the gallery mode above) for the full Valentine's cards set!

Christmas 2012 - New Year's 2013

Consolidation at its best. This is for everyone who feels like they just got settled into the Christmas spirit.

Father's Day 2013

I drafted Needles' body specifically in the form of a baby rabbit (body type compact), or a cartoon one anyway. Also, what makes the Poke Island Pokemon fun to draw is that, regardless of their civilized behavior, they still have the mannerisms of animals (or animal based monsters, rather). It's much different than the AU Pokemon, who are straddling the fence of being human (or Lisa's world, where about 99.9% of the "monster" in them is removed).

Swanna Float (Valentines 2014)

This years' Valentines holiday artwork just for you! I can only manage one picture however yet I put all my heart into it. ;) -- SteCisTTWG P.S. A bit cliche to say this but we're having the storm of the century here in the UK. I managed to send this in the morning but not the night before since the file sending got affected by the weather.

Christmas 2014

I don't know if this is true for all babies, but once my niece has her sights on something, she goes right after it and doesn't stop no matter how many times you move her away or even move/hide the object. That's essentially Diana right here. I can just imagine the moment right before now... "Oh honey, the baby's in the tree" "The baby's in the-?--WHOA!" Meanwhile, Nina's been sleeping underneath it and not a thing was said. Probably because she's finally quiet.

New Year 2015

Now this is one I wanted to do. Instead of being loud and flashy, I just wanted to show the simple, at home experience with a very subdued, not-very-celebratory transition into the new year. Just a quiet evening with the TV down real low, and a few kids who get to rub in their elders' faces that they were able to stay up to midnight and that those "old guys" didn't. Of course, it's those same "old guys" that take care of them all the time, why do you think they're so tired?

I also enjoy how the daughters always look like they never know what the heck is going on in the world around them.

Easter 2015 - Dressed for the Occasion

I remember the days when our mom would have us dress up for Easter. Not my favorite part of the day, or the church service that felt like it dragged for ages, but I'll tell ya I loved the colored hard boiled eggs and candy! I'm still not exactly keen on dress shirts. Or ironing them. And ties, the working man's noose? No thanks. But enough about my editorial on dress clothes (and yes, even if I dislike them I'll still wear them where appropriate, I'm not a slob).

I thought this would be a cute idea, but I got lazy and tired of working on it. This is why group pictures need to be done days in advance, or with no deadline, because I have to take breaks from them. With that in mind, I like 2014's better, but it's nice to see the full extension of Nidorino's family, even if Chicolita and Eevee are only an adopted niece and nephew respectively. Time to go to Fern Garden to show it all off! Also, I like how Needles looks like he's going to mix me a drink, or deal some cards or something.

Father's Day 2015

Unlike moms, I don't know if any dads visit Aqua Bunny. Probably too cute of a site, not enough Nidoking. Or the concept is too strange (meaning the point went over a lot of heads). But regardless of whether any dad's'll get the feels, the rest of us can enjoy these comics FOR our dads, and maybe even empathize with him. Or with someone else's. Or your friend or relative who might be a new dad. Or relatively new. All I know is, at Aqua Bunny, we care about everyone!

Now all that's left is for Nidorino to interact with Nina and he'll have a comic for all three biological kids. I guess Totodile still needs to have his moment, though.
