As I've read on John K.'s blog (you know, Spumco), life drawing is useful, but for cartoon characters, especially animals, it's actually more useful to draw a figurine. They usually have the anatomy of said character, and give you actual perspective/depth, unlike a 2D picture. That's genius, and I'm surprised that as long as I had a Nidorina figure, I've never done so.

This is one of the better sketches I've done so far (it's not so carbon copy). I've never realized just how fat Nidorina's head is. She's chubbzy indeed, I guess Mrs. Nidorina isn't awkward, then. It's all the skinnier ones who are weird.

I decided to leave shading out for this one. She's also not so grouchy-haggish, considering the figure is afterall based on the anime interpretation. I like girls to look like girls, thanks. I also took liberties in facial expressions for each view instead of the same for all.

If anybody has a figure of anything they like to draw, I would recomend use of it.
